The Inter-African Conference of Insurance Markets (CIMA), an international body created by treaty on July 10 1992 in Yaoundé (Republic of Cameroon), is responsible for the supervision, regulation and control of the sector insurance in the fourteen (14) Member States, namely the six (6) States of the Economic Community and Central African Monetary Union (CEMAC), the eight (8) member states of the Western Economic and Monetary Union African (UEMOA).

For the purposes of strengthening its staff, the General Secretariat of the Inter-African Market Conference d’assurances (CIMA), located in Libreville (Gabonese Republic) is recruiting an Accounting Assistant.

I. JOB PRESENTATION

a) Sector of activity: International public administration (International organization)

b) Place of assignment: Libreville (Gabon)

c) Position to be filled: one (01) Accounting Assistant

d) Category: B1

e) Line manager: Head of the financial and accounting department

f) Missions:

Under the coordination of the Deputy Secretary General in charge of finance and the Head of the financial and accounting department,
The Accounting Assistant is responsible for:

  • implement and monitor accounting operations;
  • record accounting transactions;
  • implement and monitor auxiliary bank accounting;
  • establish bank reconciliations;
  • manage and monitor relationships with banks;
  • participate in the development of the administrative account of the General Secretariat;
  • prepare and verify the financial statements;
  • participate in the production of annual activity reports and analysis of fixed assets;
  • participate in the organization and keeping of accounts;
  • prepare the authorization of expenses;
  • prepare payment documents in the form prescribed by the financial regulations, charges and expenses
    authorized by the authorizing officer;
  • participate in computer entry of budgetary and accounting management;
  • participate in the preparation of tax returns and the verification of financial transactions;
  • update and maintain financial and accounting journals and accounting records;
  • ensure the proper maintenance and conservation of accounting and financial documents;
  • implement and monitor payment and collection management systems in connection with
    the partners of the CIMA General Secretariat;
  • carry out any other tasks entrusted by the hierarchy for service needs.

II. GENERAL RECRUITMENT CONDITIONS

a) Candidate profile

Candidates for the position to be filled must:

  • be nationals of a CIMA member state and primarily Gabon;
  • be at least 21 years old and no more than 40 years old;
  • enjoy their civil rights and be of good moral character;
  • have complied with the laws on recruitment into the national army, if this is mandatory;
  • meet the suitability requirements for the position.

b) Qualifications required

  • hold a DUT or BTS (Bac + 2) or any other equivalent diploma in accounting, management,
    finance and similar disciplines;
  • have confirmed professional experience of at least 5 years in the practice of accounting;
  • have a good knowledge of the revised SYSCOHADA;
  • have good experience in producing financial reports and statements;
  • have a good command of IT tools, in particular the MS suite.

d) Composition of the file

All candidates must produce a file including:

  • a cover letter;
  • a detailed curriculum vitae;
  • certified copies of diplomas, titles, certificates and qualifications;
  • work certificates justifying professional experience;
  • a criminal record dating back less than 3 months.

e) Appointment

The newly recruited Accounting Assistant will be subject to a 3-month trial period. If the test
proves conclusive, a fixed-term contract of one year will be offered to him, then a contract of indefinite duration
in case of confirmation over the annual period.

Gabonese) no later than July 20, 2024.
