FINAL PRESS RELEASE Abidjan (Republic of Côte d’Ivoire), December 17, 2024 The CIMA Council of Ministers met in Abidjan (Republic of Côte d’Ivoire) on December 17, 2024, under the chairmanship of Mr. Adama COULIBALY , Minister of Finance and Budget of Côte d’Ivoire, President of the Council of Ministers. Having approved the minutes of its previous meeting held by videoconference, the August 8, 2024, the Council took note of the status of execution of the decisions of their previous meetings. They took note of and approved the minutes of the meeting of the Committee of Experts which was held from September 22 to October 6, 2024 in Cotonou (Republic of Benin). To this end, the Council took note of the activity report of the Secretary General of CIMA as of August 31, 2024, as well as that relating to the activities of the Regional Commission of Insurance Control (CRCA) for the same period. The Council also approved the action program of the Secretary General of CIMA for the 2025 financial year. It set the budgets of CIMA and the International Insurance Institute (IIA) of Yaoundé in revenue and expenditure respectively at the sum of 4,718,726 539 FCFA, an increase of 0.46% and the sum of 1,909,705,910 FCFA an increase of 5.72% compared to fiscal year 2024. The Council also approved the Regulations amending and supplementing certain provisions of the Insurance Code. These are the financial and accounting regulations of the General Secretariat of CIMA, Book VIII relating to reinsurance companies, the business continuity plans of insurance and reinsurance companies and the General Secretariat of CIMA as well as the system of internal control, monitoring and risk management. The Council postponed until its next session the examination of the action for annulment of Commission decision N 026/D/CIMA/CRCA/PDT/2019 of November 2, 2019 Regional Insurance Control Authority (CRCA) withdrawing all the approvals of the company SOMAVIE of Côte d’Ivoire introduced by the Société le Millénaire d’Assurance Vie (SOMAVIA) of Côte d’Ivoire. The Council sent its congratulations to Minister Adama COULIBALY, outgoing President, for the quality of the services provided and the results recorded during his mandate. It also extends its congratulations to the Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Mali, incoming President for the 2025 financial year. At the end of its work, the Council expressed its gratitude to the Authorities of the Republic of Benin for all the facilities made available to their respective delegations on the occasion of the meeting of the Committee of Experts.
