Report on all of CIMA’s insurance markets

2014 financial year

In 2014, global economic growth remained stable. However, it has remained fragile and heterogeneous depending on the country. The growth rate of the Gross Global Product was limited to 3.4% in 2014. In an economic context of moderate growth, the performance of the insurance industry in the CIMA zone was favorable: the premiums written in life and non-life recorded an increase of 5% in 2014.
In order to perpetuate this dynamism, 2014 essentially saw reforms relating to:
– the preparation of the intermediate statements of insurance companies;
– the reform linked to compensation for victims of road traffic accidents;
– the limitation of the repayment period and the interest rate applied to advances on life and capital insurance policies.
